DJ: Nameless
Date: Dateless
THIS IS AGGRESSIVE MUSIC.
“That DJ never appears happy. Have you ever seen him happy?”
“Nope.”
“It was as if he was playing mad. A friend casually stated after observing a DJ play.
A DJ’s music set should never assault the ears of listeners. This to the point where every four-count thump bitch slaps the face left-to-right. Call it emotional. Or in my feelings. When a listener awakes the next morning feeling some-kind-of-angst cause they experienced a musical ass whipping hours earlier, the truth must be spoken.
A DJ’s opening set should be a warm welcome to patrons, both spectators and dancers alike. The first three to four songs played are crucial. A music selector sets the mood and tone for the listeners. If you are happy, joy eschews through the music you play. If you are angry, well you get the point. “Perhaps that’s the life of a DJ who travels place to place.” The same friend reasoned.
Excuses aside, A DJ should not come out the gate swinging arms in sicko mode. In this era where clubs are safe(r) spaces, sending people outdoors for fresh air and then home after an exhaustive entirely too long forty-five minute music assault is an insult.
Yes, the DJ killed it. However, what was killed, I was not sticking around to find out.
